Thomas Concrete Group strengthens the executive management team

Lennart Björnström will January 9, 2017 become CIO and Head of Business Development at Thomas Concrete Group. Lennart will be part of the executive management team, with placement at the Headquarters in Gothenburg.

 

Lennart’s role is primarily to lead the group’s strategic IT-management and running projects within business development, which strengthens Thomas Concrete Group’s competiveness and efficiency. He will work in close cooperation with the CEO and IT-department in each subsidiary.

Thomas Concrete Group invests in all-new factory

Increased sustainable construction in Sweden is raising demand for concrete frames, particularly in Stockholm, Uppsala and the Mälardalen region, where the political ambition is to rapidly accelerate housing construction. To meet this growing market need, Thomas Concrete Group is now investing 80 million SEK in an all-new factory outside Uppsala, north of Stockholm, for the production of pre-cast, reinforced double-walls and slabs. Customer deliveries are scheduled to commence early autumn 2017.

Thomas Betong AB takes yet another positive step forward. Thomas Concrete Group will grow in Sweden.


Thomas Betong AB will acquire seven ready-mix concrete plants, three in the region of Göteborg (Mölndal, Ale and Vikan) and four in the region of Södermanland (Eskilstuna, Strängnäs, Vagnhärad and Nyköping), south west of Stockholm. The seller is Betongindustri AB, a subsidiary of Heidelberg Cement. These strategic acquisitions will allow Thomas Concrete Group to be an even better partner to its customers in Sweden. Thomas Betong AB will at the same time sell five plants in region south (Malmö, Helsingborg, Sölvesborg, Karlskrona and Tingsryd) to Betongindustri AB.
